Abstract: This article pertains to the analysis of a corpus in sports medicine, specifically focusing on the shoulder joint. It investigates the terminology encompassing bones, ligaments, muscles, joints, and movements in Latin, English, and French, as well as their equivalents in Montenegro. The article's aim was to analyze specific lexemes that perform a terminological function in the Montenegrin language when translating sports medical terminology from Latin, English, and French. The analysis process faces challenges due to Montenegro's lack of standardized terminological dictionaries. This research emphasizes the importance of aligning terminology to achieve precise and consistent understanding among linguistic experts and professionals in specialized medical disciplines. This research, through systematic analysis and interpretation of available sources, provides a foundation for improving terminological standards in the field of sports medicine in the Montenegrin language, thereby facilitating professional communication and education in this modern medical discipline.

Abstract: Fraudulent insurance claims pose a significant financial burden on the insurance industry, necessitating robust anomaly detection systems. Anomaly detection in insurance claims is a crucial task to identify fraudulent or irregular claims, reducing financial losses and improving business efficiency. Recent advancements in Machine Learning and data analytics have led to the development of Hybrid algorithms that combine different techniques to detect anomalies. This review article provides a comprehensive overview of hybrid algorithms for fraud detection in insurance claims discussing their strengths and weaknesses, limitations and applications. We explored various hybrid approaches including ensemble methods, fusion models and hierarchical algorithms and examined their performance in detecting different types of anomalies. Our review highlighted the potential of hybrid algorithms in improving anomaly detection accuracy and reducing false positives and discussed the future research directions for further enhance their effectiveness in the insurance industry.

Abstract: The IoT has emerged as a powerful tool for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) to improve performance and productivity. However, many SMEs are hesitant to embrace this transformative technology. Existing research often overlooks the specific factors influencing IoT adoption by SMEs in developing economies. This study aims to bridge this gap by identifying key drivers and barriers affecting IoT adoption among SMEs through a comprehensive literature review. By analysing both the potential benefits and the challenges faced by SMEs, we hope to accelerate the adoption rate of IoT within developing economies. Additionally, the findings can serve as a strategic guideline for SMEs in Botswana, specifically promoting the national adoption of emerging technologies. Thus, by embracing IoT, Botswana's SMEs can become more competitive and contribute to achieving national development goals enshrined in Vision 2036 strategic master plan.

THE DYNAMICS OF WOMEN INFORMAL FRUIT AND VEGETABLE VENDING MARKETS: A CASE OF EARLY MORNING MARKET, DURBAN, SOUTH AFRICA

Abstract: Street trading is a global phenomenon, and women are increasingly taking up street trading to augment their income and feed their families. This article presents the experiences and challenges of women street traders within the lens of the dual labour theory that stratifies formal and informal dichotomies. The study randomly interviewed 115 women from the street fruit and vegetable market and analyzed the data using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences computer software. Findings show that poverty and unemployment are the key drivers of the women participation in informal fruits and vegetable trading. Most women street traders secure start-up for their business from personal savings, family and friends, as they cannot secure loans from banks because of lack of collateral. The major obstacles by street fruit and vegetable vendors include limited support from central and local governments, competition from the formal businesses and fellow vendors, theft of goods and until recently the reduced trading hours imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions. The study recommends the development of legislation for, and registration of informal trading to harmonise their operations and the extension of the sector`s trading hours. In addition, more security mechanisms are required to reduce the levels of theft among traders themselves and from robbery who pounce on traders as they predominantly transact in cash. Moreover, the strict enforcement of the COVID-19 regulations such as social distancing, handwashing and proper wearing of masks is critical towards reducing the spread of the pandemic within the informal sector.

INCLUDING THE EXCLUDED: EFFECTS OF ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS ON ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF GIFTED LEARNERS

Abstract: The state of science education remains a thorny issue especially when coming to gifted learners. In the majority of classes gifted learners are given the same quantity and quality of academic work as their non-gifted classmates. In worse scenarios, gifted learners are left to look after themselves when they are through with the day’s work, or even asked to help their non-gifted mates. This might be due to the teacher’s unpreparedness in catering for this group of learners. The teacher’s primary responsibility in the class, should be to design and implement instruction that helps all learners learn useful academic, social, vocational, and personal skills through use of varied methods and activities. A study was carried out to establish the impact of enrichment programs on the performance of gifted science learners. The researcher chose forty gifted science learners from three high schools and randomly drew them into two groups- experimental and control. The forty gifted science learners wrote a pre-test after which the twenty in the experimental group were given enrichment. The two groups then wrote the same post-test under examination conditions to assess their performance and establish the impact of the enrichment given. The process was repeated but with a different topic and learners’ marks were compared. All twenty learners in the experimental group performed better than those who were in the control group, confirming the need and effect of enrichment programs on gifted science learners.

Abstract: The role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) has been acknowledged in knowledge-sharing not only within educational institutions but across different facets of society. The outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic made the role of ICTs crucial in the teaching and learning process, especially at the university level. Therefore, this study investigated the impacts of information communication technology (ICT) on effective teaching and learning among undergraduate students in a selected Nigerian University. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. The population of the study covered undergraduate studying in the sixteen faculties at the selected university. Three research questions were raised, while two hypotheses were formulated. The sample of the study was 480 undergraduates. The sample was made through the use of simple random sampling techniques. Therefore, 30 undergraduates were selected from each of the sixteen faculties. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as simple percentages and inferential statistics of spearman’s’ Rank-Order. The two hypotheses were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The study's findings show that ICT tools are available to a great extent in the selected university and are frequently used among students to improve learning activities. Based on the findings, the study recommends that stakeholders at the selected university and other universities should intensify efforts at utilizing ICTs in the teaching and learning process for effective teaching-learning process.
