Abstract: This paper may be divided into three parts. The first one offers a causal, holistic analysis of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The second one approaches this conflict as a case study so that, on the one hand, it may shed some light over the need for an unbiased and effective system of collective security that would help resolve this kind of conflicts and, on the other hand, it may evince the arbitrary use of different principles when implementing measures sanctions in particular depending on the State or the interests at stake, with the concomitant problems it brings forward in terms of legitimacy and effectiveness of the system. Lastly, some possible lines of action for its resolution are explored. In spite of not abandoning the use of empirical and critical approaches, the study, due to its broad focus on the religious factor, adopts a mainly hermeneutic perspective.

Abstract: The objective of this investigation was to assess HIV/AIDS gender differences in HIV/AIDS knowledge and awareness among Urban Secondary School Students at Inanda, Durban, South Africa. It is generally perceived that the prevalence of HIV/AIDS in South Africa is unrivalled worldwide. In fact, South Africa has the largest and most high profile HIV epidemic in the world. The sample of the study comprised 105 (57 girls and 48 boys) grades 11 and 12 students studying at a comprehensive secondary school in Durban, South Africa. Their age ranged from 15 to 18 years, with a mean of 16.5 years. The respondents were administered an HIV/AIDS questionnaire of 15 statements/questions to which they were asked to tick the most correct response on the basis of the three options provided, which were Yes, No Do not know. Descriptive statistics in the form of frequency, percentage, chi-square and probability were used for data analysis. The overall results showed that girls were more HIV/AIDS knowledgeable, given that they had the highest score on the questionnaire. Otherwise the breakdown of the questionnaire showed three types of results: in some questions, both genders performed equally well or worse; secondly, girls performed better, whereas in other questions, boys outperformed girls. In view of the fact that, HIV/AIDS has no known cure, there is need for comprehensive sexuality education programmes, which will equip urban girls and boys to protect themselves against the scourge of HIV/AIDS. In short, what is being advocated is educating, motivating, persuading and enabling should be the chief cornerstone of HIV/AIDS public education campaigns.

Abstract: In order to facilitate learners’ development and help students attain personal well-being, music education needs to integrate the new social models of the twenty-first century. One way to do this is through project work, which allows teachers to tailor curricula to learners’ needs, open a window on the world beyond the educational environment and, in general terms, help learners become empowered. This paper takes benefit of music projects in different countries in which contrat social and cultural environments, including a Spanish project which involves the composition of operas, a project in Nicaragua focused on musical interpretation, the organization of concerts in Uganda, and an orchestral project in Israel. All of them are shown to share basic features which indicate that music education in this new century must emerge from social needs and issues that concern us. The projects were also designed within non-formal learning environments and are characterized by the organizational and methodological flexibility that often accompanies this learning.

Abstract: An important question concerning the internationalization of a firm involves the relationship between geographic scope and performance. Past researchers have proposed a positive relationship between international diversification and performance, but the results of empirical tests have been decidedly mixed. The reason for these mixed results, we argue, is that the relationship is more complex that has been theoretically argued and empirically tested. Firms in Taiwan always seek for the business opportunities in foreign countries because the limited size of domestic market and the natural scarce source comparing with other developed countries in the world. In order to acquire the relatively low cost of production, Taiwanese firms moved to appropriate countries since 1980s.Therefore, foreign direct investment (FDI) are considered as the common strategies in order to facilitate cost reductions so that the firms have the ability to pursue higher profits. Multinational corporations (MNCs) in the context of globalization, MNCs have to face competitions on the domestic front as well as from abroad. With factors such as market expansion and increased source of resource, MNCs can to focus FDI. How to sum up the experience, knowledge compiled and then become strategy to improve MNCs, performance and become MNCs and academia research issues. The purpose of the study is to examine the relationship between international diversification and performance under Taiwanese context and we also discussed the moderator effect of R&D capability. Besides, we used simultaneous equations system to examine the endogeneity of country diversification to performance. Our result indicates that there is a curvilinear relationship between international diversification and performance, and market capability and revealed comparative advantage will have significant effect to performance.

Indo–Pak relations and Media rapprochement process for South Asian peacenik under the umbrella of regional and global politics

Volume 72, Apr 2016

Abstract: South Asian region is housing two nuclear neighbors that are carrying along traditional hostility and rivalry to offset each others in the arena of regional politics. Instead of solving their issues like modern developed world, their relationships are becoming sour and complex. Both are ambitious enough in winning the Arms Race to ensure State and hyper Security interests instead of promoting the Human interests. It is an unbending fact that use of power can quench lust for land acquisition and prolong forced occupation but it cannot win the hearts and minds of the people. No headway can be achieved without justice, integrity and fair play. Indians vying for a military hegemonic designs and obsession to become a policeman of South Asia and Pakistan desire to balance the power symmetry forced Pakistan to make alliances for ensuring its sovereignty and to safeguard its security parameters. It was not the hostility but security concern of Pakistan that drove Pakistan to develop a close alliance with the Americans even at the cost of relations with other brotherly Islamic nations such as Egypt, Iraq and Syria. It was necessity of State of Pakistan that sought Pakistan to establish a friendly relationship with a God-less Communist China even while claiming to be at the vanguard of Islam and targeting to assume the mantle of Muslim Ummah (community) leadership after holding Muslim leaders summit at Lahore, Pakistan. Pakistan military and economic power patrons like US and China also helped in diffusing the crises prone tensions with India. India alleges Pakistan used mujahedeen left over from 1979 Afghan war to feed strife in Indian held Kashmir and border towns like Pathankot while Pakistan complains that India is sponsoring terrorism in its cities like Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar and patronizing the separatist groups doing subversion in Baluchistan. After the nuclearization of South Asia (SA), many a times the relations come to the brink of nuclear flash point, thereby appealing and forcing the peace lovers to build an atmosphere of trust, peaceful co-existence, thereby; making the region free from violence and avoiding of reaching to the explosive situations. Global power like US seeks from both countries to adopt risk reduction and restraint policies to avoid wars. US president, Obama during the fourth and final Nuclear Security Summit at Washington urged both India and Pakistan to reduce nuclear threat, not to move in a wrong direction and follow US and Russia, the two largest possessors of nuke arsenals, which are prepared to lead the way and follow the clear position on the issue. Similarly, US administration also showed willingness to assist both India and Pakistan to take Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) to reduce the terrorism threat especially in the wake of nuclear arsenals. More-so, Non State Actors (NSA) like civil society and Media are urging from both States to expedite Peace promotion programs in line with the World changing paradigms. The 21st century will remain elusive if the essential conditions for Peace are not fulfilled. Media voluntarily participation in bringing rapprochement is a positive development, albeit of its multifarious role, whether it will be a useful effort or futile is a multi- million question? It also raises the question that how these two warring nations engaged in less proxy more active war-non kinetic to some but going towards kinetic ends in its ultimate objectives come to positive ends, talk about cooperative arrangements and more productive and fruitful arrangements. Why global powers and international community are not paying heed to solve this existing imbroglio? It is high time know that both India and Pakistan recess from rivalry stance. They need to cooperate and accommodate each others before the future of next generations become gloom and doom.

Abstract: According to the program of rapid detection of resistant isolates this study was performed on the clinical MTB isolates in South of IRAN (2011 to 2013). In this study 199 clinical MTB isolates were phenotypically detected and then confirmed with molecular method by detection IS6110. Isolates were tested for drug resistance against Isoniazid(INH) and Rifampicin(RIF) by proportional method. Either isolates were tested for mutations in related target genes (inhA, katG and rpoB) response for resistant to INH and RIF. Based on conventional results, 38(19.10%) and 30 (15.07%) isolates were resistant to Isoniazid and Rifampicin respectively. In molecular detection of mutations in inhA and katG, 25 (12.56%) isolates were identified resistant to INH while according to the mutations in rpoB, 18 (9.04%) isolates were identified resistant to RIF. Based on the results it deduced that IS6110 detection is 100% responsible for identification of prevalent MTB in referred samples to our center. But the sensitivity of molecular detection of resistant isolates for INH and RIF is about 65% and 60% respectively. For this it is highly recommended that in the cases of molecular sensitive results it is better to check the samples phenotypically for confirmation.
