It is mentioned that the use of the Internet has significant effects on people's social life as well as the facilities they provide in information sharing and interpersonal communication. The "real life escape" mentioned as the concept of social escape is also experienced in virtual environments. Especially today, after the internet two-way interaction with the development of web 2.0 technology, it is seen that individuals frequently apply to the internet world due to their daily life stress and various social-psychological problems. The purpose of studying this point is to examine the various factors of the social escape motivations and attitudes towards the internet of 363 teacher candidates in the faculty of education of a university in North Cyprus. The "social escape scale" developed by the researchers as a means of data collection in the survey and the attitude scale were used. The frequency of using social networks, using internet as leisure activities, the frequency and duration of using internet and demographic variables and the attitudes towards internets were investigated for motivation of social escape. The frequency of using social networks, the frequency and duration of internet usage and internet usage as leisure activities, gender, differences in terms of education faculty departments were observed. At the same time, there was a significant positive correlation between attitudes towards internets and social escape motivation.
